Archaicism

Despite records that the Eidolons had been banished by Bhelest, the clearing of tyrannical rule allowed people to return to the spiritual gods. Belief in ancients was called "Archaicism" and though the concept was generally similar to earlier days, worship of Eidolons was divided into distinct ideas by advocates. There was a handful of folk that determined that the Eidolons were never exiled and their days are spent by offering gifts, prayer, and apologies to the Eidolons for the years that were lost when their families abandoned doctrines. People on the opposite spectrum who also focus on Archaicism have rationalized that the Eidolons are not physically or celestial present, but they follow their teachings and live their lives by those lessons with the thought that one day their bodies will expire and meet the Eidolons in an afterlife.

People that practice Archaicism are called "Archaist". For Archaists, an Eidolon (beings which are neither male nor female) is represented through tactile symbolism.

Dainyil

Symbolism:
Literature, music, art

To prevent early civilization from following a set path, Dainyil - often referred to as "The Muse" - offered people a way to think for themselves. Society expressed ideas and inspiration, starting conversations through entertainment like art, music, and writing. Many entertainers pray to Dainyil before performances. Others admire Dainyil not for the entertainment aspect of the Eidolon's personality, but for reasons such as the spirit god helps to invent and bloom concepts in all sorts of subjects.

Ixaziel

Symbolism:
Nature, beasts, land, gardening

As the first Eidolon to present gifts to Khy'eras, Ixaziel is seen as a divine parental entity. Through the Eidolon's hands, flora, fauna, and all original forms of life were crafted. Without Ixaziel to move the remaining Eidolons forward, Archaists speculate that Khy'eras would have been doomed to fade into nothingness. Devotees revere nature in all its forms and are commonly adventurers seeking to explore the land.

Ny'tha

Symbolism:
Night, stars, moon, dreams

Without both Ny'tha and Ristgir, time would have been a non-existent thing, thus rendering the work of the Eidolons useless. Nevertheless, Ny'tha is discussed with controversy. In the beginning, Ny'tha was viewed as a protector of dreams, the spirit who could wake a troubled mind from nightmares. When Bhelest took the Eidolon's magic to conjure a cover of nightfall for his undead armies, denizens concluded this assisted the spread of bloodshed and blamed Ny'tha. In fact, a gathering of Ny'tha's disciples have been known to be dark magic users. Alternatively, opposite followers claim that Bhelest's misuse of the magic was unfortunate and that with darkness, one can find comfort in the celestial bodies of the stars and the moon. On the blackest of twilight, folk have requested Ny'tha to turn the stars in their favor, so they may use space as a guide home.

Pheriss

Symbolism:
Ocean, rivers, voyage, sea creatures

Although Pheriss was the first Eidolon to fall victim to Bhelest, the Eidolon still has a chunk of people that teach and live by this water-based spirit's ways. Pheriss is represented by anything aquatic and has, on occasion, been viewed as a giver of life essence as water can cure wounds and satisfy the thirsty. Sailors, even those who do not support Pheriss, usually say good luck blessings in the Eidolon's name before departing into Khy'eras' waters (especially the mist guarded sections).

Ristgir

Symbolism:
Day, fire, sun

When the realm was redeemed by the savior Cecilia, she accomplished her task with a lingering essence of Ristgir's magic and Fellsgard's lighthouses. The light of Ristgir was so powerful that it weakened Bhelest's armies, thereby giving the people a chance to strike back. Ristgir is viewed as a provider of an abundance of things: strength, light in dark places, and warmth, to name a few. Those who speak to Ristgir wake and pray with the rising of the sun. It is believed that Ristgir - as brilliant as the Eidolon was - had never been banished and was transformed into the sun.
