Idolism

Although it's currently safe for a citizen to dedicate themselves to the Eidolons, there are many who are hesitant to put their beliefs and time into beings that were ultimately killed off. This group needed an alternative pathway and a recognized link between these minds was that folk were inspired by souls that had significantly changed Khy'eras. Thus, "Idolism" was born and the concept was that people would not meet any supreme deity in the afterlife or be judged by them, but they were motivated and created their lives around a saint-like beings, whether said figure was good or bad. Curiously enough, an Idol does not necessarily have to be dead to be honored and over the years, interesting Idols have popped up along the way. Some faded while others lingered.

Followers of this religious brand are called "Idolists". Teachings are primarily focused around emotional or mental concepts, but can be related to physical objects like Archaicism.

Ahm'kela

Symbolism:
Travel, earth, cartography

Much like Ixaziel, Ahm'kela was an explorer and created a substantial portion of Khy'eras' maps that are still widely used today. As a half-Dwarf, Ahm'kela did not fear mortality and ventured to exceedingly foreboding places all in an effort to chart new territories so that future generations may have definable paths to go by.

Bhelest

Symbolism:
Dominance, illusion, chaos

Although defeated because of his ways, there are those that serve Bhelest and prepare for his wanted return. People offer tribute to Bhelest by studying his history and accomplishments, which results in a persona that is characteristically forceful, power-hungry, or manipulative. A person does not necessarily need to be a magic user to worship Bhelest, but there is a collective that casts malevolent energy.

Cecilia

Symbolism:
Hope, invention, warmth, order

It is natural that denizens would shape their lives to mimic Cecilia, whom many claim to be Khy'eras' first true hero. Cecilia's actions saved countless lives and as such, those that follow in her footsteps do so by offering aid society. This can be through simple acts of kindness or fantastic, global efforts that positively effect populations of the realm. In addition to the idea of virtuousness, engineers and inventors have paid homage to Cecilia as they state it was not necessarily her kindness that saved the realm, but her brilliant mind in that produced magic as a form of technology with lighthouses.

Esyrax

Symbolism:
Strength, power, courage

It is curious that those seeking impressive fortitude look not to a physical deity, but to the elusive Idol Esyrax. This Idol shifts between two animalistic forms: a bear and an eagle. In the sky, Esyrax inspires his worshippers to rise above their fears, and on the ground, Esyrax motivates that all paths are manageable and can be tackled with persistence. It is ambiguous if Esyrax is real in either of the proposed forms or if this is just a tall tale. Nevertheless, for warriors and adventurers, the resilient symbolism of the eagle and bear have emerged so much over the ages that it seems as if Esyrax is an entity.

Faryv

Symbolism:
Love, charm, devotion

The physical image of Faryv has always been a bit unclear. Mostly people see Faryv as an Elemental - genderless and never taking Human form. Others claim Faryv is more an Eidolon than anything else. Or that perhaps, Faryv is neither of these and instead, takes representation as all sorts of comforts: a kiss, a newborn's first breath, the return of a beloved... etc. In their time on Khy'eras, Faryv wrote several books, songs, and poems about the dominant emotion that love possesses and claimed that it is more potent than hate. Suffice to say, plenty of these works were burned and there are rumors that Bhelest assassinated Faryv somewhere on the island south of Verdant Row.

Faunir

Symbolism:
Light, holy, faith, health

As the primary discoverer of restoration-based magic, Faunir's following largely consists of Clerics and Paladins, but a person need not be either of these classes to show tribute. An individual seeking guidance through Faunir's methods is usually a being that attempts to see the good in the world and desires to rid the land of all things corrupt and unjust. Though Cecilia vanquished Bhelest and rid the land of a considerable amount of evil, certain public opinion states that her "light" does not radiate as bright as Faunir's and thus, these people have chosen this alternative Idol.

Iodrah

Symbolism:
Time, fate, change

Seldom pieces of lore are written about Iodrah, but it is said that when Ajteire was being built, the scholar visited the young city and taught eager students about the effects of time and circumstance. These lessons ranged from subjects on timelines, birth, death, change, fate, and how the outcome of future events might, and could, be altered. Eventually, these concepts inspired the Fae to create their governing bodies, the Voices of Fate. Iodrah did not stay too long and their visit was so short in fact, that no one knows can recall Iodrah's appearance. Illustrations of Iodrah are mysterious at best, influenced by visions usually. The Idol is repeatedly depicted as wind, coming or going as it pleases.

Kaxitaki

Symbolism:
Trickery, chance, luck

Those that live on the edge and gamble with fate might swear by the Idol Kaxitaki. Unlike the rest of her kin, Kaxitaki was a Fae that was commonly seen in taverns, succeeding in cards and other high-stakes games that always ended in her favor. But beyond the spotlight and the awe of audiences, Kaxitaki was a traveler that plunged into unexplored dungeons in search of treasure, disarming traps and making it back out without a scratch. It is spoken that after Kaxitaki passed, she left pieces of her spirit throughout the land and those lucky enough to come across these essences, would be rewarded with remarkable fortune and favor.

Kelorha

Symbolism:
The wilds, fauna

Envisioned as various types of animals both tremendous and meager, Kelorha is a protector of beasts. When wildlife is rashly hunted and the population in a forest or other terrain begins to thin, Kelorha may appear in an animal form to stand vigilant over the land and defend those which are less capable. Kelorha is speculated to be almost as ancient as the Eidolons; having made a debut in the realm prior to Ixaziel creating the Shapeshifter race.

Lahiel

Symbolism:
Weather

Lahiel is an Idol that has straightforward inspirations and concepts that revolve around a single, tactile idea. In fact, Lahiel was not necessarily a teacher at all, but a farmer. The reason people devote tribute to Lahiel is because regardless of the season, Lahiel's presence altered the weather patterns and brought about rain, sun, or wind to carry seeds. Whenever Lahiel was questioned about this, she responded, "I'm just a farmer." It is interesting that chance, wonderful weather accompanied Lahiel everywhere, even when the land was ravaged during the wars, allowing her to provide and feed those who had dead crops.

Misanyt

Symbolism:
Sickness, plague, pain, madness

Little is discussed of Misanyt, except of the bitterness that pursued the Idol from the start to the end of his life. While nearly all of society is birthed from parents of the same or two different races, Misanyt came from a lineage that was mixed with so many distinctive races, that no one knew what the creature was. Because of the concoctions in his blood, Misanyt raged at the world on impulse and in return, the public shied away. When healing magic came into fruition, as revenge, Misanyt started a disease that wiped out countless people from Ninraih to Irtuen Reaches. Eventually, Misanyt's wrath was halted, a cure was found, and consequently, he expired from his own sickness, refusing to take an offered remedy.

Nilbein

Symbolism:
Death, passing, darkness

There are typically two types of folk that devote themselves to Nilbein: those that want to see the world and its inhabitants perish and those who view death as a final, welcoming release and do not fear its coming. No one has a true image of Nilbein to go from, but some swear its presence is that of a dusky-colored spirit or a shadow, guiding the next fallen person to the afterlife.

Veditova

Symbolism:
Knowledge, language, communication, mind

Neither Lumeacia or Kerasoka, Veditova was an elf who lived before the split of the two elven tribes. When the land was at war and knowledge was a threat (a concept that might eventually overthrow Bhelest), Veditova wandered the land and taught students in secret. Any fragment of information Veditova was partial to was passed on. The elf was particularly fond of education about languages, so that people may know what their enemies were saying. It is even rumored that Veditova might have taught Cecilia a thing or two about engineering.
