Physical Features
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 153 lbs
Figure: Ahtair is not a large man, though he certainly does not disappear when he turns to the side. His body is built for speed and dexterity with muscles reinforced by constant physical activity.
Chest: His chest is thin but muscled, clearly the result of many hard days spent climbing, carrying, and swimming.
Complexion: His skin is a largely unmarked swarthy tan, though he bears many small nicks and scars on his fingers. He is plainly not of Khy'eras although his precise origins would be impossible to pin down.
Hair: Ahtair’s hair is dark brown, fine, and kept cropped short so it stays out of his way. His mother has often told him it would be luxurious if he allowed it to grow
Face: He has a finely maintained and bushy mustache that falls to both sides of his mouth all the way to his jaw
Ears: His ears are small for a human, but not strangely so.
Eyes: His eyes are a dull mahogany, hooded and almond shaped. Their thinness is exaggerated by his strong brown and broad nose bridge. He often appears to be scowling by default
Voice: Ahtair’s voice belies his usual scowl. It is light, controlled, and has a gentle cadence that lends itself to song and storytelling
Other Features: He has a ritual tattoo across his entire right shoulder blade. It is the mark of the sun eidolon in all their glory. It was given as the final act of gaining the right to summon his Spirit Vulture

Armor and Weapons
Ahtair wears hardened cloth adorned with small details and edging in a style traditional to his homeland. He carries two daggers, one at his shoulder plate and another on his belt. He wears heavy duty leather boots, scuffed and worn with age.

Clothing and Accessories
His clothing beneath his armor is light and airy, dyed in earthen tones and wrapped close. Around his middle he wears a decorative orange belt heavily adorned with filigree and figures traditional to worship of the sun eidolon.

On his forearms he wears a collection of thin loose golden rings, a cultural element he does not know the importance of. His head is often wrapped in a thin light cloth that is long enough to bunch around his neck. Around his waist is a thick belt that carries several satchels.

Personality
Ahtair is a reliable and level-headed man. His family and crew mates know him to be patient, practical, and devoted. His sister knows the other side, a relentless and uncompromising man firm in his beliefs and slow to let things go.

He is a quiet man, one who feels little need to fill the silence, but also understands the nerves and emotions of others better than he shows. If he feels others need comfort or inspiration he is an enthusiastic singer and storyteller, though many of his stories and songs contain important lessons.

When he negotiates, he acts distant and calculating, knowing exactly his costs and the margin of profit. Many find it uncomfortable to deal with, and so much of his work has been supporting his sister away from the business table.

Religion
He is an active adherent to the eidolons of sun and moon, light and dark. He knows them by names not heard on the continent, but keeps this to himself. If comfortable, he has many stories and songs to share.

Skill and Training
He is a talented summoner, strong in both control and power, though he has little experience with creatures beyond his Spirit Vulture. In the mundane, he excels at ship work, fishing, and other fine detail or highly monotonous tasks.

He is a skilled tinkerer, able to disassemble and understand most machines given the time and inclination. Though he rarely indulges the skill as it falls low on his list of personal priorities.

His training in mercantile skills - wares assessment, logistics, true cost estimating and a keen understanding of profit - is extensive thanks to the varied talents and wisdom of his elders. His personal experience is much more megar, having only been as an assistant thus far.

Background:
Ahtair was born in a far away place and raised by his mother to be strong and dependable. The birth of his sister three years later gave him purpose and changed his life for the better. When he was five they left their home, boarded a ship with several other families, and sailed into the ocean.

In their travel, the ship became lost in the mists and was severely damaged. With great effort, the families aboard the ship were able to get the vessel close to land. There they encountered another vessel and followed it to a safe harbor. Their destination was a small village centered around a collection of wharfs called Cetnisadel Bay.

The families moved all of their surviving belongings off of the ship and created a semi-permanent tent community outside the village limits. As the families became comfortable many moved on, taking ships to other destinations or simply beginning a life at sea.

Ahtair does not know why they left their home, he only knows he does not remember the place and his mother and the other elders refuse to reveal the extent of her own memories. Despite this collective lack of knowledge, the community retained a strong sense of culture and identity.

All children were trained in any skills the community knew, each family contributing to raising all of the children collectively. Ahtair excelled in his studies of mercantilism and summoning. When he came of age he completed ancient trials and earned the right to summon a Spirit Vulture.

Now he travels with his sister and seeks to earn his fortune, restoring his family to the heights the elders remember.

Relationships and Companions
Ahtair has people he knows, people he owes, and people he holds in a heart he rarely shows.
