Physical Features

Height:
6'3"
Weight:
165 pounds; like most Elves, his figure would be considered lithe but muscular.
Complexion:
Fair-skinned and light-complected, though a few old scars and pockmarks do mar an otherwise graceful face.
Hair:
Light brown, worn around the middle of his back. Sometimes braided, sometimes in a ponytail, but most often worn in a top-knot.
Eyes:
Green
Other Features

Deep scar over his right eye, though the eye itself remains functional. A pair of names are tattooed over his heart, those who once held it: Behtani and Liza. Other works of ink decorate his arms, some purely decorative and others with a meaning known only to him. He seldom removes his cloak and tunic to display them, however. Khan prefers to wear a dark green cloak, hood raised, and armor of light leather.

Notable equipment includes a hand-carved longbow, a pair of daggers, and a small adventuring kit containing rations, medical supplies and dungeon-diving gear.

Social Interactions

Relationships and Companions

Companion Animal: Wolf; named Asfaloth.

Personality

Sure of self and ability, though humble. Most would call him a "navel gazer", as he is deeply introspective and typically insular. At times Khan can be quick with a clever quip, though not as quick as he is on the draw of his bow. Usually prefers solitude, or working in small groups to large companies and adventuring parties though he has been known to make exceptions. Khan possesses a strong sense of right-and-wrong, though his moral codes do not always necessarily align with society's; revenge does not equal murder.

Galynhun is also an investigator of decent ability, finding frequent work in towns solving mysteries and crimes the local constabulary have become confounded with. Khan is an "optimistic pragmatist," offering one hand while arming the other to strangers, though he does not trust easily or readily. At the same time, he will give a stranger the benefit of the doubt and reserve judgment until one has given him reason to distrust. Once his trust is broken, it is next to impossible to regain.

Deeply dedicated to any craft or skill he undertakes, he demands no less than perfection from himself. Likely born from the loss of his young family, Khan is noted by all who encounter him as a highly driven professional. When not out adventuring, Galynhun-Khan is known to play the lute, though only for an audience of one: his companion wolf, Asfaloth.

History

There isn't a time that Galynhun-Khan cannot remember conflict or strife. Be it against Bhelest and his forces of oppression against the Kerasoka and Fae, or against the usual dungeon-dwelling creatures.

Khan was born in the hundred-and-thirty-ninth year of the Age of Dominance. For sixty-three years, he honed his archery and magic skills against the seemingly endless dark horde. However, this would eventually lead to the separation of Elves and the stripping of the Kerasoka's connection to magic--his own abilities ripped from him. Khan, like the rest of his kind, was forced to double-down on his martial skills and seek an alliance with the Fae to survive. Also like the majority of his kind, Glaynhun remained on the frontlines for the duration of the Age of Valor, until Bhelest was finally cast out. He found himself in noble company, a band of rangers whom he followed into the depths of the underworld and back.

Prior to the end of the Age of Valor, Khan found love among the Fae, although that too would end in tragedy. He sought union with a lady named Behtani, having come to rely on her after his own magic was torn from him. The pair even bore a child, but neither could tear themselves away from the conflict, refusing to raise their darling girl, Liza, in a world that knew nothing but death, destruction and oppression. Khan returned from war a victor for their cause, only to find his home brightly ablaze and naught but corpses within. Even as the Kerasoka and Fae intermingled, there were still apparently some who felt Behtani and Galynhun's union unholy, and their spawn an abomination. Khan vowed the transgressors would not survive another week, but even the sweet taste of vindication turned to ashes in his mouth.

He left Ajteire to wander the lands as the Age of Neverend opened, selling his skills as a tracker, hunter, investigator and guide. Though the war was over, Khan couldn't retire from fighting. Time marched on, and after a hundred years or so Khan's heart began to feel less heavy with loss and things lamented. He felt as if the living had a duty to the dead, to continue marching forward as they could not. Nevertheless, he would never forget his comrades-in-arms who perished in valiance, nor the one true love of his life.

In the two-hundred-and-eighty-fourth year of the Age of Neverend, Galynhun encountered a wolf pup, alone and injured by a careless hunter’s trap in the wooded Ajteire. Once freed and treated, he expected the pup to wander off to rejoin her pack or for the pup’s mother to come retrieve her. She was grateful to Galynhun, and the pair became bonded and inseparable. With a little work, he was able to teach Asfaloth how to join him in combat matters, both stealthily and otherwise. To this day, the pair wander the lands of Khy’eras to their hearts’ content, both stricken by wanderlust. Asfaloth became the one being Galynhun could confide, just as she relied upon him.
