Other Features

There is a prominent scar over her right eye as if from some kind of bladed weapon. Lechies’ hands bear some minor scarring as well, mana burns typical of a novice wizard’s accidents during training. These are usually hidden by her gloves.

Her attire tends toward the simple and practical, well-suited for long days of travel. Lechies prefers her clothes in some shade of blue or white. The fanciest item she owns is a bronze pendant shaped like a sun with 8 spokes. She wears no armor.

Lechies uses a magic staff carved from ash wood to assist with her casting. She keeps a backup dagger on her belt.

Magic Proficiencies

Polarity (Restorative, Luminosity) -- Lechies’ abilities are strongest here. She’s healed many a wound and cured many a poison in her time, and even used magic to supplement treatment of illness alongside more traditional remedies. In combat, she weaves light into sturdy shields to protect her allies, or hurtles it onto undead enemies like a divine fist.

Primal (Aquamancy, Ignimancy) -- Her grasp of this category is less refined than the above, but still at a level suitable for battle. Lechies understands Aquamancy and Ignimancy the best, water’s soothing properties and fire’s brilliant nature having the most similarity with her chosen foci. At her most aggressive, she wields these two elements as some form of projectile; an area-wide devastating blast is beyond her skill. On the lesser end, Lechies can harness all primal energies for mundane purposes, say, conjuring a gentle breeze to set a child’s pinwheel turning.

Defensive -- Spells to disable enemies without bloodshed and wards to prevent harm are very much in line with Lechies’ ideology. These are her first resort in a fight. The punishment of Primal magic only comes after her opponent has made clear that only death will stop them.

Social Interactions

Relationships and Companions

Nolan Degrantine (deceased) -- The man who saved her life, and a man who liked his secrets. Although he raised Lechies like his own daughter, there is much about his past that she doesn’t know. He never warmed to the idea of being called ‘Father’ by anyone, so Lechies and her brother knew him as ‘Uncle’. Lechies admired his patient and taciturn ways, and tries to channel some part of that in her interactions with others.

Sorrick Degrantine -- Her honorary brother. Sorrick came under Nolan’s care the same way as Lechies; they grew up as close as siblings could be without being related by blood. They are highly protective of each other, Lechies worrying over Sorrick’s deeds as a career monster hunter, while he frets over Lechies’ constant journeys up and down the continent.

Personality

Rescued from death at a young age, Lechies feels that her survival is mercy from the Eidolons, and the only proper way to repay Them is to uphold the tenets They set down those long centuries ago. Walk the road of compassion; offer a helping hand to those in need; seek compromise over division. The myriad people of this realm are the Eidolons’ greatest, most enduring gifts, and should thus be protected.

These values are folded into every inch of Lechies’ approach towards life. Even-tempered and gentle, Lechies strives for friendliness in all interactions, even those which may cast her in a negative light due to her background or vocation. She is an honest soul. Lechies looks down on thievery, deceit, and exploitation, and struggles in environments where the rule of law is more a suggestion.

In the face of looming conflict, she tries for peace if possible, but when bodily threatened, Lechies is of course willing to defend herself. Though generally a calm person, if she believes someone is in danger, she is likely to throw herself into the effort of rendering whatever aid she can.

Lechies has a love for travel, and a curiosity to see what the greater world has to offer. In her eyes, the lands of Khy’eras, crafted by the divine hands of the Eidolons, are ripe with knowledge and discovery to reward an inquisitive mind.

History

Trauma took away her memory of her earliest years. What Lechies does know is that a man named Nolan Degrantine found two children hiding in a ruined wagon, the only survivors of an apparent bandit attack on traveling merchants. Nolan graciously took those children into his home.

The man she would come to call ‘Uncle’ was an accomplished wizard, well-respected by the townsfolk. Though not given to shows of affection, he did see to it that Lechies and Sorrick learned their numbers and letters like diligent pupils. His talent with Primal magic was great, but Lechies was more fascinated by the apparent ease with which healers knitted torn flesh and mended bone than the fiery light shows her uncle could conjure. As soon as she was old enough, Lechies was apprenticed to a local doctor and began training in the restorative arts, magic as well as medicine.

Once she finished her apprenticeship, Lechies sought further tutelage in Ajteire, and from there, went to various scholars and wizards around the region to request a share of their wisdom. She came to delight in the journey as much as the destination, and soon took to traveling simply for the joy of the experience.

Then Sorrick sent word that Nolan had fallen ill. Lechies rushed home and spent a month tending to him personally, until he looked her in the eye from his bed and whispered, “That’s enough.” That night she mixed something extra into his medicine, and in the morning Sorrick made funeral arrangements.

She resumed her travels shortly after, ever bound to the thrill of seeing new places.
