Mila's First Outing (Completed)

Mila pulled back, and composed herself. She dashed away the tears and took a deep breath. "Thank you. Not normally a crier, but you know."

She took a seat and held the drink up to him. "A' y' wenya tar ... to a fresh start." She took a sip and then coughed. She managed a smile. "Never drank anything but Fae wine, and that just tastes like fruit-juice! I'll get used to it."

It was time for sleep, and she didn't realise how exhausted she was, both physically and emotionally after the days events. She lay her head down on the mattress, definitely a step up from a pile of rags she had been using at her pa's house. Her eyes drooped closed, but she murmured a prayer as she drifted off. "Kaxitaki watch over me in this strange place. And luck upon Artemis for his many gifts, and for Pa ..."

Mila didn't finish her prayer, for sleep took her and she sank happily into darkness.
