Vanessa is a driven and relentless woman when it comes to her pursuit of knowledge regarding mythical, legendary, and fantastic creatures.
The constant deluge of false information, dead leads, and outright fabrications has lead her to adopt a sardonic opinion of most information presented to her. She uses this to drive her stories and performances as a bard, converting all the disappointment and frustrations into fantastical displays to inspire wonder and awe.
Whenever she can, she augments her songs and instruments with magic and summoned creatures. These she shapes to the form of the creatures she has learned of. There is nothing more valuable in the light of day than the pursuit of knowledge, nothing more valuable in the dark of night to inspire the same pursuit.

Background:
Vanessa is the daughter of a prodigious human researcher of artifacts and relics and his fair and socially adept fae wife. She inherited a blend of her parents features and talents as well as a heavy dose of their stubborness. Her drive to discover and explore is only matched by her need to inspire and share. Her father's inability to leave his research and her mother's desire to maintain her social status led to Vanessa seeking her own pursuits.
She now works with her uncle in his antiques shop and seeks to discover knowledge about mythical, legendary, and fantastic creatures. She uses this knowledge to shape the forms of her summoned companions.
