Currency

There is a famous and age-old phrase that money can't buy happiness. However, in Khy'eras, it can certainly buy a favorable weapon and sturdy set of armor to keep oneself alive. Gear aside, currency may be traded to purchase goods such as potions, trinkets, or transportation methods. It can also be used to sway (okay, okay, "bribe") another character into assisting in a task. Begrudgingly to some, money can make the world go round and without a little in your pocket, a player might find it difficult (but not impossible) to progress.

Khy'eras' currency is divided into four categories, from lowest to highest weights:

  • Copper
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum

When a bracket reaches a value of 100, that value will be converted into a 1 and transferred to the next tier. For example: 100 copper is equal to 1 silver, 100 silver is equal to 1 gold, and so on. While all players will start with 50 copper, additional funds can be obtained through quests, achievements, or miscellaneous accomplishments and contests. A character's background will never increase the amount of starting currency. Just because Bob the Dwarf comes from a wealthy family and was left with piles of gold from dearest mom and dad, does not mean he will be granted this. But he can certainly work up to such an amount!
