Re: An eerie encounter.
The premise is there's a cursed object, or a haunted place, and a group of adventurers are trying to investigate, if not cleanse it outright.
Druilin could be drawn by the misery of the ghosts involved and trying to absolve them from his side, while the adventurers are on a job from the nearest town, or investigating a rumour, etc. for their incentive. There's plenty of room for other characters to join in this way, and my ue'drahc doesn't have a set home or anything, so it could be a location anywhere if that's a constraint for other characters. I've pitched the idea for an adventuring faction, and jobs like this are exactly the kind of thing he'd do.
Of course, if a one-on-one thread ends up working better, an alternate premise I have is that Simon here is a summoner - albeit not a fantastic one. He could always be meddling with his own magic, and inadvertently summon a ghost or Druilin himself!

Re: An eerie encounter.
As the fundamental idea was @Simon Kinsley's I think it best they write the opening post, set the stage for our haunted adventure!
However, if they'd prefer I can do it as well!
